In plant buds, plant hormones or growth regulators (auxins) are produced under the influence of light and heat; they are transported to that part of the plant where the roots are or should be. That is why the production of these hormones is better in summer than in winter. The best chance of rooting the cuttings is therefore from April to July. Outside of this period, the success of rooted cuttings is more difficult and often depends on the weather as well. Adding exogenous growth substances to the cuttings—a hardening agent, commonly called a cutting agent—can help them root.

Application:
Pour a small amount of the gel into a clean container. Close the bottle with the rest of the gel and store it in a dry, cool place (not in the refrigerator). The cut area is immersed in the gel, after which the cutting is placed in the growing medium (substrate).
