It is a very popular substrate between the Dutch growers by excellent aeration and nutrient retention.

It is composed of a mixture of polyurethane foam and rock wool flakes which ensure that the environment is never compacted. It is a perfect substrate forhydroponic cultivation in pot with which you can get spectacular performance. It is a totally sterile environment and requires much less watering than other hydroponic substrates

- As rockwool is pH-neutral it should be soaked down to a pH- value of 5.5 - 5.8 before usage.

Contamination with diseases and fungi is prevented, as RFX-1 rockwool/PU flakes mix contains no recycled materials. 
Organic life required for strong and vital plant development is also added to the RFX-1 rockwool/PU flakes mix during the production process. As the substrate contains the right combination of rockwool and PU flakes, it has ideal proportions of water and air.

Whether starting your seeds and cuttings in A-OK Starters, Macroplugs, or Mini-Blocks it is a good idea to transplant into a 3” or 4” block.

You know it’s time to transplant to the Gro-Block when roots coming out of the starter are about 1” long. Just place your Mini-Block on top of the 3” or 4” block without the hole, or your Macroplug/A-OK into the 3” or 4” block with the hole and watch your plant flourish.
