Milwaukee EC60 meter
Pocket Size Waterproof Tester for EC / TDS / Temp.
Includes features such as replaceable probe , temperature measurement in °C or °F, automatic temperature compensation with adjustable ß, battery level indicator, stability indicator, auto-shutoff and auto- calibration all in a floating, waterproof housing.
Measurements are displayed at two levels on the LCD display: EU (20.00 Ms / cm) or TDS (10.00 PPT). It also displays the temperature from 0.0 to 60.0 °C (or 32.0 to 140.0 °F) on the secondary level at the same time.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORKING WITH THE TESTER:
- Remove the cap and turn on the tester by pressing the ON/OFF button. All usable segments of the LCD screen will be visible for about a second or as long as you hold the button.
- Immerse the probe in the solution you want to measure, select either EC or TDS mode with the SET/HOLD button.
- Gently mix the solution with the probe in a circular motion and wait for the reading to stabilize. I.e. until the hourglass symbol on the LCD screen turns off.
- The EC or TDS value is automatically temperature compensated and will be displayed on the main LCD, while T will be displayed on the secondary LCD.
- To lock the display while in measurement mode, press and hold the SET/HOLD button. The message “HOLD” will be displayed on the secondary display and locked on the LCD screen. Press any button to return to normal mode.
- To turn the tester off, press the ON/OFF button. The message “OFF” will appear on the secondary display. Release the button.
- Before each measurement, make sure that the tester is calibrated (you can know this if the inscription “CAL” lights up on the display)
- After each use of the tester, always turn it off, rinse its probe with water and store it with the cap closed.
SETTINGS:
- This mode allows you to change the winterization units for temperature C/F, conversion factor (CONV) and temperature coefficient (BETA). To enter this mode, press and hold the ON/OFF button until “CAL” on the secondary display replaced by "TEMP" then:
- To select C/F unit, press the SET/HOLD button, then press the ON/OFF button once to enter buffer settings or twice to return to normal mode.
- To change the TDS value after you have set the temperature section, press ON/OFF once to display the current value (eg 0.50 CONV). Select the desired value by pressing the SET/HOLD button, then press ON/OFF twice to return to normal mode.
- To change the temperature coefficient. After setting the TDS factor, press ON/OFF to display the current temperature coefficient value (eg 2.1 BETA). Press the SET/HOLD button to set the desired value, then press ON/OFF to to return to normal mode.
CALIBRATION:
- For maximum measurement accuracy, frequent calibration is recommended.
- From normal EC mode, press and hold the ON/OFF/CAL button until the “OFF” message on the display is replaced by the “CAL” message. Release the button.
- Immerse the probe in a suitable calibration solution: 12.88 mS/cm.
- After the value is read automatically, the LCD screen will display “OK” for about a second and the tester will return to normal, measuring mode.
There is no need to recalibrate the tester if you decide to change the measurement setting from EU to TDS.
When the calibration procedure is completed correctly, the inscription “CAL” lights up on the screen.
To reset to default settings and clear previous calibration, press the ON/OFF/CAL button after entering the calibration mode and before the calibration point is accepted. The secondary display will read “CLR” for about a second, the tester returns to its factory defaults settings and the inscription “CAL” turns off on the display automatically,
