ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY (EC)

The Bluelab Truncheon Meter is a robust and reliable everyday tool for measuring the concentration of nutrients in solution. With Truncheon, you'll ensure your plants get the nutrients they need for superior plant health.

Truncheon is factory calibrated with no moving parts or switches. Simply dip the probe into your feed tank and take the reading shown on the LED display.

How to take your first measurement:

1. Remove the meter from the packaging.
2. Dip the probe head into your solution.
3. Wait about 10 seconds for the thermistor to reach the temperature of the solution.
4. Read the measurement indicated by the flashing LEDs. If the flashing lights alternate between two numbers, the measurement is the value between those two numbers. For example, if the lights alternate from 0.8EC and 1.0EC, the reading is 0.9EC.
5. Truncheon will turn off after about 10 seconds. If additional measurements are to be taken, remove the stick from the solution, wait a few seconds and reinsert it. It will turn on again.
6. We recommend that the probe be cleaned and accuracy checked in Bluelab 2.77 EC Solution once a month.

Note: For low or high temperatures, it may take 1-2 minutes for the probe to reach solution temperature. Try placing the probe in an area where there is strong movement of the solution, or stir the solution with the probe.

Tip: In addition to being used to measure nutrient levels, the Truncheon Meter can also be used to stir nutrients into your solution.
