Agra-Wool
Agra-Wool International is a company engaged in the development and production of Earthwool® products.
Earthwool® is a natural rock wool product made from basalt, a volcanic rock that hardens (coagulated lava). The “naturally strong” fibers are obtained by heating and spinning this rock. Our rock wool is also made with a natural binder (Ecose®), free of acetylates and formaldehyde. This makes it a much more accessible substrate for the roots than “normal” rock wool and allows plants to make better use of the available volume.
Plant-based raw materials are used to produce the binder instead of petrochemicals.
70% less energy is used in the production of our Ecose® binder compared to traditional binders.
Using a patented process, we transform renewable raw materials into an extremely strong binder. As a result, our stone wool products based on Ecose® technology are significantly softer and do not spread odors or dust. They are also recognizable by their characteristic brown color. Our stone wool products are also safer for people and the environment. They do not irritate hands and skin and are therefore more comfortable to handle.
