BlueLab ph soil pen

Bluelab soil pH pen

The Bluelab Soil pH Pen is an accurate way to measure soil pH and temperature directly in the root zone of your plants. If necessary, the soil pH pen can be used in nutrient solutions .

Simply poke a hole in the soil with the storage cap and insert the probe to get constant pH and temperature measurements.

Features:

  • Selectable units for °C and °F
  • Fully waterproof
  • LCD display with backlight
  • Read hold function
  • Storage cap
  • Automatic shut-off function

How to use:
**Important : You must calibrate your pH pen before first use .

  • Use the storage cap to make a hole in the soil. Place as deep as the roots of your plant.
  • Carefully remove the storage cap by first unscrewing the cap and gently pulling to remove the probe. The cap contains KCl solution , so be careful not to spill the liquid. The formation of a salt crust around the probe is normal.
  • Turn on the pen and insert the probe into the opening. Make sure the tip of the probe is in contact with the soil at the end of the hole. The display will stabilize and give you pH and temperature readings.
  • Rinse after use to remove nutrient build-up or dirt and replace cap for storage

How to calibrate:
**Calibrate after each cleaning and at least once a month.

  • Turn on the pH pen.
  • Calibrate to pH 7 by placing the probe tip in a pH 7 solution . Wait for the reading to stabilize between pH 6.6 - pH 7.5 .
  • Long press the Cal button until CAL is displayed. Release the button. The calibration sequence will begin flashing "0" on the display in sequence. Once “0000” stops flashing, the sequence is complete. Rinse the probe tip in fresh tap water.
  • Repeat with pH 4 solution.
  • A checkmark will confirm successful calibration.

Hydrate
** Keep the probe hydrated with Bluelab KCl solution. Without proper hydration, readings may be inaccurate and the probe may break.

1. Add enough KCl storage solution to submerge the tip of the probe in a plastic cup and allow to soak for 24 hours.
2. Make sure there are a few drops of KCl solution in the storage cap .

Rapitest Meditor Universal - ph, light, moisture

Rapitest Meditor Universal - soil test

The Rapitest Meditor Universal is a multifunctional measuring device that allows you to monitor soil pH , soil moisture and light intensity conditions.

The pH level of the soil affects how well plants use the total nutrients available in the soil. These nutrients are the building blocks that a plant requires for healthy growth. Optimal growth cannot be achieved with inadequate or incorrect amounts of light. And even if these two key growing conditions are ideal, your garden won't thrive if it's underwatered or overwatered.

Key benefits of Rapitest Meditor Universal:

  • Measures moisture at root level
  • Proven accurate measurement
  • No batteries required
  • Prevents overwatering and drying out
  • Helps maintain healthy plants

Turn on the tester to the desired reading, shake to see the arrow turn left and right. If it swings, it means the device is working.
Stick the probe into the soil. Make sure the probe is in the soil at least 4 inches (10 cm) deep.

Instructions for use and reading of the measured value:

1. Ph value is set to level 6-8 by default
2. If during soil testing the ph arrow points to values in the range of 6-8, it means that the ph level is neutral and healthy
4. When the ph indicator is at the level of 6-8, it mostly means that the soil is in good condition. When it says 3.5 - 6, it means you need to take action
5. When you see the ph needle swinging after it is in the soil, it does not mean that the ph measurement has failed. It most often means your soil pH is healthy in the 6-8 range.

Note: DO NOT use with liquids.

Testers are important measuring devices in horticulture. In this category you will find testers with different purposes.

Fertometer

Fertometer is an EC-meter that measures the level of electrical conductivity in the soil, thereby measuring the amount of salts in the substrate.

It is usually difficult to judge whether plants need to be fertilized . With this wonderful device, you can easily avoid mistakes in this direction. Fertometer works on the same principle as the plant. Like the roots of a plant , it absorbs nutrients from the soil.

By measuring the amount of nutrients taken up, it can be determined whether there are enough nutrients left in the substrate. These resorbable nutrients are called ions and consist mainly of nitrogen, the main nutrient for plants during the growing season.
